Friday, January 20th, 2012: Ordinary New England winter day. I said a prayer in memory of my late brother Yakubu. "Yaks" would have turned 45. About an inch of nuisance snow had fallen overnight. Excitement was in the air. New England Patriots were set to host the AFC Championship game. My arm started twitching on my drive home from my meeting in Rhode Island which hadn't particularly gone well. Hours later on the ambulance ride to Caritas Norwood Hospital, my stroke recovery journey began...
